Watson AI soups up interactive ad

Andy Warhol’s favourite soup brand is using the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to cook up new customers.

Using the AI of “Chef Watson” by IBM, consumers are able to create new dinner recipes from their available ingredients by either typing or talking to the ad. It then responds with recipe cards and instructions for preparing a dish from those ingredients… along with suitable Campbell’s products.

The Watson-powered ads are believed to be the first AI-powered ad creative which can make sense of unstructured consumer input such as (in this case) consumer food ingredients and preferences.

Transparency: while the perspectives shared in The Brandthropologistâ„¢ are my own, I am presently employed by IBM Corporation.
